My obsession with watercolor is Covid's fault. It seems we can all find a way to blame Covid for something so this is my "something" (LOL).
I remember we were headed into quarantine at the very beginning and I was in the local drug store grabbing last minute items. I happened on the school and art supply aisle and thought I should grab something to keep myself and my kids occupied. I had never been a fan of watercolors but I did know that I could make them last a long time. I also knew that since I was going to have a lot of time on my hands, I would have to be patient and learn. Patience is not something I had ever had. Watercolors (and Covid) taught me patience. Since 2020, I have so many watercolors. Some I love, some not so much but they are all a reminder of a learning process.
I decided for 2023, I would do a watercolor a day for a year. I set up a little corner in my apartment with all my supplies. I bought my first pad of really nice watercolor paper by Arches (If you know, you know!). I have no idea what I will do with 365+ watercolor paintings lol. Oh well, it is great for the soul!!
