30 Minutes in the Life : February 2015
Greetings, salutations and welcome to the February blog circle installment of 30 Minutes in the Life! I am so glad you stopped by!!
On this particular day it felt like Spring in February.....it was 28 degrees!!! I know, crazy to say 28 degrees and Spring in the same sentence but it has been so unbelievably cold. We've seen temperatures in the single digits for several days in a row with snow showers in between the cold days. We are ready for Spring. Here we are enjoying 30 minutes in the fresh "Spring" 28 degree day at the Valhalla Damn. We even dusted off the tricycle for a spin!
I see a little Spring in her step....
Chillaxin' The thinker. Sometimes to get through the winter you need a little change in perspective to keep you going.....
A Shadow and a Reflection....
The 9/11 Memorial at the park. We always take a walk by when we are here. Each time we talk about what happened that terrible day. All still such an unknown concept for them. My eldest asks the same questions and I answer the same each time. It's like his mind is trying to understand. I tell him I don't even understand. His innocence protects him for now but it isn't long now until his mind will grasp at the horror. When there isn't any snow the large metal Spire-like sculpture is surround by a wall of names of the folks that died that day. The inside of the spire has a little walk way lined with lights, that shine up through the spire at night. It's a beautiful place for loved ones to come visit and for people like us to come and pay our respects and just remember. I think that's the most important thing we can do, remember. On a side note, I felt a bit disrespectful taking pictures of the memorial so I stole a few quick shots. It's quite beautiful in person...these images don't do it justice.
My Tricycle rider....
My two crazies...that I love more than my own life. He's throwing snow at me eventhough it looks like it may have backfired and it ended up on him instead...... Well, that's just one of my fun filled 30 minutes this month!!
Now, head on to the next fabulous photog in this circle, Kelly Tyack of 4 Fishes Photo, to see how she spent 30 minutes of her month: http://4fishesphotos.com/2015/02/23// Comments
